Bossell allegedly tried to drive away in the ambulance, only to be stopped by police who were following the vehicle.

The woman charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of a Kansas City firefighter paramedic while he helped assist her on an ambulance also tried to steal the vehicle, according to charging documents in the case.

Shanetta Bossell, 39, was charged with first-degree murder after police said that she stabbed Graham Hoffman, 29, while the firefighter paramedic was assisting her in an ambulance. Charging documents also say that the woman tried to steal the ambulance alongside the alleged stabbing.

The documents stated that Bossell was walking on the highway at around 12:40 am on Sunday morning, leading concerned people in the area to call 911. Officers and paramedics arrived on the scene and then tried to transport Bossell to a medical facility. At around 1:25 am, officers saw the ambulance pull over to the side of the road with its emergency lights on.

Court documents say that officers observed the ambulance driver run to the back of the vehicle, where there was a struggle between Bossell and Hoffman. Bossell then allegedly hopped into the driver's seat and tried to drive away in the ambulance, only to be stopped by police who were following the vehicle. When an officer removed her from the driver's seat, they both fell to the ground and Bossell allegedly bit him in the arm. The officer struck Bossell in the back of the head with his service weapon to get her to release from the bite, the court documents stated.

Bossell had been arrested last week for an alleged assault on a police officer in addition to the incident over the weekend. She was accused of biting the officer and resisting arrest. Judge Louis Angles gave Bossell a bond of $10,000 and she was released before Saturday, only to allegedly commit the alleged murder on Sunday.

A knife was found in the ambulance, and there was blood throughout the back of the vehicle, detectives found. She is now in jail on a bond of $1 million.
