"If there was, there was, but no, I don’t want it. I’d like to see everything calm down as quickly as possible."

President Donald Trump has said that he is opposed to regime change in Iran, and that doing so would result in "chaos." He made the comment on Tuesday after Israel and Iran continued in conflict despite the countries agreeing to a ceasefire.

When Trump was asked by reporters if he would want a regime change in Iran, he answered, "No. If there was, there was, but no, I don’t want it. I’d like to see everything calm down as quickly as possible."

“Regime change takes chaos and ideally, we don’t want to see so much chaos. So we’ll see how it goes," he added, as he was about to board a plane to go to the Netherlands for a NATO summit. He went on to say that the Iranians are "good business people" for trade, but that the country cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

The comment from Trump after the president posted on Truth Social earlier this week, "It's not politically correct to use the term, 'Regime Change,' but if he current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn't there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!!"

According to the New York Post, the president has been telling those in the administration that he wants to prevent any regime change from taking place in order to prevent something such as "another Libya."

On Monday evening, Trump called for a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, a deal that was not carried out by the warring countries as of Tuesday morning. Trump is expected to speak to other world leaders at a NATO summit later today, where military spending of the other nations will be discussed.
