President Donald Trump surprised a 104-year-old veteran of World War II with a birthday message after a video of the veteran went viral on TikTok where he invited the president to his 104th birthday party. The video was posted by the veteran in March.
Denver Moore of Ohio, who just turned 104, has been a supporter of the president for some time and had invited Trump to attend his 104th birthday in a TikTok video that got nearly 900,000 views on the social media platform.
“President Trump… I’m gonna be 104 in May, and I’m inviting you to my birthday party in Canal Fulton,” Moore said in the video. “I got to vote for you again, and I hope I can vote for you some more.”
This past Thursday, Moore got a response from Trump through his congressman, Rep. Michael Rulli (R-OH). Trump addressed Moore in the video response, "Hi Denver!"
“I want to wish you a very happy 104th birthday from your all-time favorite president. That’s me, Donald Trump,” he added. “And I’m sorry we weren’t able to get to your party. I would love to get to your party, but I’m working on Russia, Ukraine, China, and all sorts of other places, and I know you want us to do well."
"But I want just to thank you for your incredible service to our nation and for your support for making America great again. A very, very special man you are, and happy birthday,” Trump continued.
This past week, Trump was wrapping up his tour through the Middle East, where he kicked things off by signing multiple deals with Saudi Arabia and then visited multiple other countries, including the United Arab Emirates, which no other president has done in nearly 20 years.
Moore lives just outside Cleveland in a senior living center, according to News 5 Cleveland. When Trump sent the video, Moore said he wished the president could have still attended, but it was a special event for him nonetheless. Rich Moore, Denver's son, told the outlet, “I just feel so good for him. He’s going to be talking about this for a long time.”
