President Donald Trump really didn’t like one of the comments he faced from the media as he visited the Capitol on Tuesday as part of an attempt to shore up support for his “big beautiful bill.”
A reporter for the nonprofit outlet NOTUS asked Trump about Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.), chair of the House Freedom Caucus, who said the bill didn’t have enough support among conservatives to pass yet.
“Andy Harris said that you didn’t adequately convince enough people to vote for the bill,” the reporter said.
“Why don’t we see how the vote is,” Trump said, adding that he had a “great talk” with GOP lawmakers.
“Who do you work for?” Trump asked.
“NOTUS,” the reporter replied.
“Who?” Trump asked again.
“NOTUS.”
“I don’t even know what the hell that is,” Trump said. “Get yourself a real job.”
NOTUS was launched last year by Politico founder Robert Allbritton as a non-profit, non-partisan outlet as part of Allbritton Journalism Institute, which aims to train young political journalists.
