He said there is a “100 percent” certainty that the US will not have a recession.

The Trump administration's Director of the National Economic Council Kevin Hassett said on Monday that following President Donald Trump’s decision to place substantial tariffs on imports from numerous countries, the US has received “very good, amazing” trade proposals from “more than 10” countries.

In an interview with Fox Business, Hassett also confidently dismissed concerns about a potential economic downturn, per CNBC. He said there is a “100 percent” certainty that the US will not plunge into a recession in 2025.

He was also asked about if there was insider trading going on in the White House as Trump was announcing a 90-day pause on the tariffs, which led to a market rally. He firmly rejected speculation about insider trading being done by Trump administration officials.

According to Hassett, Trump, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick are currently evaluating whether the proposed trade agreements from various nations are “good enough.”

"The one question that I have open in my mind is, should we go one at a time, or should we announce a bundle all at once?” Hassett added during the interview. He added that many companies are looking to bring their operations to the US because of the tariffs and that consumers are buying up goods from foreign nations because they are “worried about future tariffs.”

Hassett touted March’s jobs report, which came in with more jobs being added to the economy than were anticipated and that “everything’s through the roof, anecdotally,” regarding the economy. The comments from Hassett come as there have been some business executives worried about an economic downturn in the next six months.
