Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued an exemption from certain emergency core cooling system requirements to support the use of Optimized ZIRLOTM fuel rod cladding material at Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2. The exemption was issued in response to a July 24, 2024, request from PSEG Nuclear LLC (PSEG).
The exemption was issued on April 24, 2025.
