Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld and Kayleigh McEnany fumed over veteran CBS News reporter Scott Pelley’s recent commencement address at Wake Forest University, in which he slammed President Donald Trump.
On Tuesday’s episode of “The Five,” Gutfeld accused “60 Minutes” correspondent Pelley of “unloading his BS on 47.”
Gutfeld then turned to footage of Pelley warning students in the now-viral speech that, in Trump’s America, the rule of law, journalism and freedom of speech are all under attack.
Afterward, Gutfeld pointed out: “He wasn’t arrested after that, you know. He wasn’t arrested, Kayleigh.”
McEnany, a Trump first-term White House press secretary, replied: “Yeah, well, look, he should have been.”
She suggested Pelley’s claim that journalism is under attack was “an overt lie” before pivoting to criticize Pelley’s show, which has come under increasing scrutiny and attack from Trump and his administration, primarily over its editing of an interview with the president’s 2024 Democratic rival, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, before last year’s election.
“How dare he lecture these graduates,” McEnany later added. “They wanted a sunny speech about going off into their careers, and instead they got a load of garbage.”
