Jimmy Kimmel said the “big, beautiful bill” that President Donald Trump is trying to ram through Congress will add trillions of dollars to the federal debt while cutting essential services to some of the most vulnerable Americans.
And that’s not all it will do.
“It contains a provision to eliminate a sales tax on gun silencers. It will make what they call suppressors more affordable,” Kimmel said. “To which I say: It’s about time! One thing I think we can all agree on is that the gun violence in this country is too loud.”
Trump has also fired climate scientists, and his budget would make steeper cuts to those programs.
“It’s all so crazy,” Kimmel said. “Their solution to climate change is to fire everyone who studies climate change. It’s not happening if we can’t see it, right? And there’s no gun violence if we can’t hear the shots.”
