Jeff Bezos may have flown in space back in 2021, but he had a really hard time leaving Earth on Monday.
That’s because the Blue Origin billionaire face-planted while trying to find the door on the craft that carried his fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, and five other women into space for a 10-minute ride.
Video footage shows Bezos running toward the craft containing Sanchez, singer Katy Perry and journalist Gayle King, among others. In the process, he falls down but manages to pick himself up and greet Sanchez at the craft’s entrance.
Bezos didn’t appear to be injured from his bout with gravity.
He and Sanchez celebrated before she turned her attention to the rest of her family waiting for her at the landing site.
“I can’t put it into words. We got to see the moon!” Sanchez said with tears in her eyes, the New York Post reported. “The Earth looked so quiet… I don’t think you could describe it.”
Of course, Bezo’s fall managed to attract a large amount of social media attention.
