Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton as well as radio host Glenn Beck will be holding a special Q&A panel at fundraiser slated for this week to boost Paxton's efforts in his run for US Senate against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, The Post Millennial has learned.
The fundraiser is set to be held in Alpine, Utah on Thursday of this week, according to host of the event, Doug Quezada, who spoke to TPM.
The businessman, who also organized much of the Utah fundraiser held for President Donald Trump during the lead-up to the 2024 election, said of his efforts to support Paxton, "Ken’s not just the guy for the job because of his character, but his track record proves he’s the most effective one for what America needs."
The panel will focus on Paxton's vision, as well as what he plans on if elected to the Senate. According to an invite for the event obtained by TPM, the exclusive fundraiser will be held in Alpine, Utah, along with Beck as a special guest, where Paxton will share "his vision for the US Senate and the future of conservative leadership."
The event, reported on by Deseret News' Brigham Tomco, will have a minimum attendance fee of $1,500 per individual. For a couple, the fee is $2,500 and a maximum contribution of $7,000 per person of $14,000 per couple.
Quezada told TPM of why he has decided to back Paxton in his run against Cornyn, "Ken truly embodies the unapologetic, anti-establishment, America First energy that resonates with the new GOP’s base. I’ve been in the trenches with him and have seen him stand in the fire without flinching when it comes to his values."
"Paxton has built a real reputation as a relentless conservative warrior, unafraid in taking on federal overreach, Big Pharma and Big Tech (clawing back from them billions for the state of Texas), and election fraud with lawsuits that electrify and inspire the MAGA tribe," he added.
Paxton announced that he would running against Cornyn for the US Senate seat for Texas in April, at the time, he said that it is "time for a change in Texas," citing Cornyn's "lack of production" as a senator.
At the time of Paxton's announcement, it was reported that his campaign for Senate will lean into his experience as the Lone Star State's attorney general; something that Quezada echoed in his comments to TPM, "I’ve always seen Ken as 'America’s AG' since his efforts almost always extended from Texas to impact the rest of the USA. Managing the largest AG battleship, and with the support of many of his other state AG colleagues, Ken and his expert team argued tough cases in DC, and has immense national-level exposure and experience."
According to a poll earlier this month on the Senate primary between Paxton and Cornyn, the incumbent GOP senator was down by 17 points in a head-to-head match-up between himself and the attorney general in the Republican primary.
When speaking about why he is supporting Paxton from outside of Texas, Quezada responded in part, "Utah and the Mormon Corridor is the last large conservative bastion west of the Rockies. And with the recent developments in the Middle East and ongoing changes within the GOP, it’s more important now more than ever to engage in these national conversations and elect great leaders who won’t sellout and will represent America First and our interests in Washington. This is a federal Senate race, and these have widespread ramifications that extend way beyond state borders."
