“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Tuesday called out President Donald Trump and his administration for defying a Supreme Court order to facilitate the return of an immigrant who was mistakenly deported to an El Salvador prison.
And in the process, he delivered a Trump joke that might be very hard to forget.
The Supreme Court last week unanimously agreed with a district court decision requiring the government to facilitate the release and return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
But Trump claimed the ruling was actually in his favor and hasn’t done so.
“There’s your constitutional crisis. It’s a failure of checks and balances,” Colbert said. “Court says ‘do it,’ he won’t do it.”
Colbert then broke out a comparison that led to some potty humor.
“These are court orders, not court suggestions,” Colbert said. “The Supreme Court has to have more power than the bathroom sign that says ‘employees must wash hands.’”
The audience laughed.
“Because you know ― you know ― Trump ignores that sign,” he added.
The audience laughed some more.
But then Colbert dialed it up another notch.
“He’s heading back to the table and dipping his pee-pee fingers right in the chicken bucket,” he said.
The audience laughed and then groaned.
“Wow,” Colbert said in response.
