Donald Trump Jr., son of President Donald Trump, is coming under criticism on social media for a tasteless message about President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis on Sunday.
At first, however, Trump Jr. appeared to wish Biden well.
Shortly after the announcement that the former president has an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to the bone, Trump Jr. reposted a message saying “politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery.”
“Agree 100%” he added as he shared the post.
That “politics aside” tone lasted about three hours, when he posted a followup message mocking former first lady Jill Biden, who holds a doctoral degree in education, and hinting at a conspiracy.
“What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” he wrote as he reposted a message declaring it “highly likely” that Biden was diagnosed as president and didn’t tell the nation.
He then pinned that message atop his feed on X.
The message stands in stark contrast to one posted by his father wishing Biden “a fast and successful recovery” as well as messages from other MAGA firebrands such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who said she was “sorry” to hear the news and offered prayers to the former president and his family.
Trump Jr.’s critics called him out for his message attacking the Bidens:
I lost both of my parents to Cancer. This is disgusting and an insult to every patient and family dealing with this insidious disease. Grow the fuck up https://t.co/QHIxVY0KTk
— Robin Bender 🤘🏼 (@RobinVibezz) May 19, 2025Donald Trump Jr. just made fun of President Biden’s cancer diagnosis. This is where we’re at in American politics. Trump Jr. is a pathetic, reprehensible conman who wouldn’t know decency if it smacked him in the face. Shame on him. pic.twitter.com/lH7LdMrIBT
— Harry Sisson (@harryjsisson) May 19, 2025This is in really bad taste even for you
— PhotographicFloridian (@JackLinFLL) May 19, 2025Didn’t take long for the internet trolls to spread misinformation about cancer. There are plenty of oncologists and urologists who can give you accurate info about prostate cancer is you’d like, @DonaldJTrumpJr https://t.co/oOWQZSO34X
