“Daily Show” correspondent Ronny Chieng on Wednesday took time to clown President Donald Trump after some of his supporters were disappointed to learn that a Trump wristwatch he once promoted read “RUMP” instead.
“What a shocking story! I mean, truly, I did not expect them to be able to read,” quipped Chieng of a line of watches that Trump once pushed as being “very special” and potentially “great” Christmas gifts.
Chieng warned those who purchased Trump merchandise that they could get a “piece of junk” in the mail before playing a news clip on a Rhode Island man who bought the roughly $600 watch as a gift for his wife, only for it to show up with a wild typo on its dial.
He then turned his attention to the “respectable horological” craftsmen behind the “luxury timepieces,” tossing to clips of CNN reporting that the watch’s makers are tied to a company that sells “male enhancement honey” products.
“Wait, everyone, shut up, stop laughing! That’s boner honey?” Chieng said.
He later added, “I just hope those watches have like a little warning label on them like you do for people with nut allergies, like, ‘Warning — this watch was manufactured in a plant that also processes fuck-honey.’”
