BREAKING UPDATE: DHS debunks LA Dodgers' claim ICE conducted workplace raid at stadium

"This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization."

The LA Dodgers said that the organization denied the entry of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents into the facilities on Thursday morning. This comes as the Trump administration ramps up immigration raids across the country, especially in large cities.

The Dodgers said in a statement to X, "This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled."

In response to the post from the Dodgers, the Department of Homeland Security stated, "This had nothing to do with the Dodgers. CBP vehicles were in the stadium parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement."

A post from the official ICE X account said that the story is "false," and that they were never present. "False. We were never there," the post reads.

Although the Dodgers grounds are not directly affiliated with the team, former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt owns the stadium parking lot, per the LA Times. The outlet said that images of a protest were blasted out on social media after DHS vehicles showed up at the facilities.

The team has also been under pressure to make a statement in support of illegal immigrants after anti-ICE riots took place in LA earlier this month.

The statement from the Dodgers was quickly slammed on social media by more conservative users. One user and Dodgers fan said, "Well, as a fan and (for 36 seasons) a regular ticketholder I bid you farewell! (Obstruction of Federal Agents should not be tolerated)."

Another user said, "Boycott this team. Everyone involved should be arrested for harboring illegals."

Another brought up a different controversy with the Dodgers where the team decided to honor the "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence," a drag group which mocks Catholics.

"FYI, I bailed on the Dodgers after the Catholic mockery they sponsored," the user wrote.
