"We certainly discussed Iran, where it’s been an interesting situation, I think it’s gonna work out. One way or another it’s going to work out."

President Donald Trump and Qatari officials signed a “joint declaration of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United States of America” on Wednesday during Trump’s visit to Doha. The agreement comes as part of a broader diplomatic push following Trump’s stop in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Trump described the event as “an interesting couple of hours,” telling reporters that discussions covered issues such as Russia, Ukraine, and Iran. “We certainly discussed Iran, where it’s been an interesting situation, I think it’s gonna work out. One way or another, it’s going to work out,” he said.

The signing coincided with Qatar’s announcement that it will purchase 160 wide-body aircraft from Boeing in a deal valued at over $200 billion. “So it’s over $200 billion but 160 in terms of the jets, that’s fantastic,” Trump said, calling it a “record” for Boeing. The agreement also includes an option for additional aircraft. According to Bloomberg, the deal supports the administration’s emphasis on increased foreign investment in US manufacturing.

Trump’s Doha visit followed a major announcement in Saudi Arabia, where he revealed $600 billion in investment commitments, including data center infrastructure projects by companies such as DataVolt.

Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signed a statement of intent with Qatar, according to CNN, outlining further defense cooperation. He also finalized offer and acceptance letters related to the delivery of MQ-9B drones and FS-LIDS systems.
