"The FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction."

The FBI has arrested a Milwaukee judge who allegedly helped an illegal immigrant avoid arrest when the foreign national was scheduled to appear in court, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

According to the outlet, federal agents took Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan on charges of obstruction after she allegedly interfered with an arrest operation to detain illegal immigrants.

FBI Director Kash Patel said on X, "Just NOW, the FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction - after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week. We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject — an illegal alien — to evade arrest."

"Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he's been in custody since, but the Judge's obstruction created increased danger to the public. We will have more to share soon. Excellent work @FBIMilwaukee," Patel added.

The post was deleted by Patel afterwards; however, Dugan has been taken into custody. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that ICE agents were at the courthouse last week, and went to Dugan's courtroom. An email from Chief Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Carl Ashley stated that the ICE agents "were asked whether they had a warrant, and the agents presented the warrant as well as their identification."

They were told to wait until the hearing concluded. Then earlier this week, Eduardo Flores Ruiz was taken into custody by ICE after he fled from the courthouse. Federal authorities had tried to arrest him previously. According to CNN, court documents said that Ruiz was able to somehow learn that ICE was coming to detain him, and he ran from the courthouse in an attempt to flee, but was “apprehended a short distance away" from the building.
