The Covid-19 vaccine has been removed from the Center for Disease Control's recommended immunization schedule for pregnant women as well as healthy children.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy posted a video to X making the announcement, saying, "Today, the COVID vaccine for healthy children and healthy pregnant women has been removed from [the CDC's] recommended immunization schedule. Bottom line: it’s common sense and it’s good science. We are now one step closer to realizing [President Trump's] promise to Make America Healthy Again."
Bhattacharya said that ending the recommendation was “common sense and good science,” with Makary adding that many countries have ended giving the vaccine to children.
The Biden administration was steadfast in pushing the Covid vaccine on everyone, saying that people should get multiple "boosters" after receiving the first round of vaccines. At first, the administration claimed that those who got the shot would not contract the virus, however, that guidance later had to be revised to say that those who got the shot may experience lesser symptoms if they did contract it. The CDC eventually approved the vaccine for children.
Some have raised concerns over giving the vaccine to young, healthy children, as an extremely low number of kids died as direct result of the illness if they had no comorbidities. Additionally, some young men experienced myocarditis after getting the vaccine.
This also comes after the FDA has now been pressuring Pfizer as well as Moderna to expand the warning on the vaccine that it may cause heart damage or inflammation, and to specifically mention males between the ages of 16 and 25, CNN reported.
